Some East Tennesseans who hit the gym on New Years Day did it for a good cause.

Dozens were sweating off the pounds at Adaptive Fitness Warehouse on Western Avenue Wednesday morning. They enjoyed a free two-hour boot camp-style workout called "Sweat into the new year."

Each person brought dry spaghetti, beans, or cash donations to help Lost Sheep Ministry. The food will help feed the homeless for the ministry's Under the Bridge program.

"We have done this to help our members and our community not only help themselves but also help the community so if we can partner up with an organization, and get people in the doors, but also here's a little something we can do to give back to our community, then everybody wins," said Michael Holtz, Adaptive Fitness CEO.

This is the second time they've hosted an open house boot camp. The first was the day after Thanksgiving.
