The man who found the bodies four Cumberland County gunshot victims Thursday talked Friday about his experience.
Renegade Mountain resident David Schlabach said typically his community is a nice and peaceful place. But, he noticed something was out of the ordinary Thursday, around 7 a.m. while he was driving to work.
"Saw a suspicious vehicle in the cul de sac there and stumbled across it," he said.
Inside, Schlabach found the bodies of Rikki Danielle Jacobsen, 22, Steven Presley, 17, Dominic Davis, 17, and 16-year-old John Lajeunesse.
"I was shocked, very shocked to see dead bodies," he said.
Schlabach said he had seen two of the individuals before around Renegade Mountain. He also said he had met 26-year-old Jacob Allen Bennett.
Authorities arrested Bennett Friday on a parole charge. They confirmed he is a suspect in the case.
Schlabach said he Bennett seemed like a normal individual.
"We rode four wheelers together," he said. "We hung out."
That's part of the reason, Schlabach said he was surprised to hear Bennett was connected to the case."I would have never guessed something like that would have occurred," he said.
