Five suspects face more than 20 charges for illegally baiting, hunting and killing a black bear.
State wildlife officers say the suspects caught and skinned a 400-pound male black bear on Chilhowee Mountain late Thursday night.
Officers say the group used chocolate candy to lure the bear to the area and used dogs to force it up a tree. TWRA says they recovered a rifle hidden by the suspects.
The agency is using the case as an example, warning it will prosecute people who hunt illegally to the fullest extent of the law.
