(WBIR-Knoxville) Attorneys continue to argue in court. over how much information Pilot Flying J has to release in lawsuits filed against it.
Federal investigators are looking into claims that Pilot Flying J cheated hundreds of trucking companies out of money they were owed in a fuel rebate program.
Lawyer Drew McElroy is representing a handful of companies suing Pilot in Knox County Court that opted out of a class action settlement with Pilot.
McElroy wants to review Pilot's financial documents. He says that's the only way to truly know exactly how much Pilot owes his clients. He also wants Pilot CEO and other company officials to give depositions.
Pilot's attorneys argue that some of the trucking companies may owe them money.
The judge wants both sides to give each other some more supporting documentation, but there are no specific deadlines or orders for that information.
The next hearing in the case is set for September 30th.
Meanwhile, McElroy filed another lawsuit against Pilot Flying J on Thursday. This case is on behalf of McMullen Trucking in Iowa. The company was part of Pilot's rebate program, and claims it was cheated out of money it was owed.
