(WBIR) East Tennessee veterans are heading to Washington D.C. this week despite the government shutdown.
HonorAir chairman announced Monday its trip set for Wednesday will continue as scheduled. Eddie Mannis, HonorAir Knoxville chairman, wrote in a Facebook post that the veterans view these challenges as insignificant compared to what they've overcome in the past.
10News will be live Wednesday morning to see the veterans off on their big journey.
The public is encouraged to welcome the veterans back to East Tennessee at the Knoxville Airport Wednesday before 8 p.m.
