Neighbors say a Hawkins County man was drinking when he started shooting at people on a hayride.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI),
According to the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to 236 Campbell Drive in Rogersville around 7:30 pm Thursday. The TBI says that Trevor Lee Burton, 44, went to a neighbor's house armed with a pistol and drinking alcohol. They say he shot at some people who were on a hayride.
When deputies arrived, the sheriff's office says Burton fired at the officers, and one o the deputies fired back. Burton fled into the woods. Deputies and the TBI finally arrested him at his home around 4:30 am Friday.
No one was injured during the shooting, but TBI says Burton was transported to Holson Valley Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Burton is charged with three counts of attempted first degree murder.
