(WBIR - Knoxville) Two Knox County School employees were fired last week after incidents in recent months.

Knoxville's Fulton High School teacher Gary Hamilton was fired after a student alleged Hamilton shoved him into a wall and punched him in the face three times.

Hamilton faces charges of assault.

He had previously been on paid administrative leave.

Knox County School Security Officer Kevin Waggoner was also fired by the school system last week. He is accused of shooting and killing his neighbor, Michael Adam Woodby, 45, of Union County.

The two had a long line of previous run-ins and arguments, according to both parties.

Waggoner was on administrative leave without pay.
