MEMPHIS, TN - (WMC-TV) - A man is now behind bars after beating his live-in girlfriend and setting fire to the home, according to police.
The affidavit on the incident stated several people were being "held against (their) will" by Lawrence Perry, 27.
After much convincing, officers were finally able to get the victims out of the home. After they emerged, police said they saw an injury on at least one of the victims.
According to witnesses, Perry accused his girlfriend of cheating on him and hit her. He also kidnapped the other individuals. It is not clear if they were already there during the domestic violence incident.
The injured victim was provided with medical treatment on the scene. She was also transported to The MED.
While a few officers were taking care of the woman, Perry was still inside the home.
Apparently, he created a fire inside the bathroom of the home.
While he walked outside, he was arrested.
A fire engine did successfully put out the fire.
Perry faces a $95,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013.
