A judge dismissed charges of official misconduct against the Bell County, Kentucky clerkbased on the state's statute of limitations.

Rebecca Blevins and three other clerk's office employees are accused of keeping more than $12,000 in tax returns from 2009 to 2011. That money was meant for 50 people who bought cars outside of Kentucky.

The judge said he had no choice but to dismiss the charges because Kentucky's statute of limitations is one year.

Blevins still faces other charges of forgery, which were sent to a grand jury.
