Some East Tennesseans are celebrating their recent weight loss accomplishments in style.
Around 30 patients of the Blount Memorial Weight Management Center showed off their hard work and success in a fashion show Thursday night. Those 30 patients had bariatric surgery and lost between 50 and 250 pounds.
"I think it's a great event for them because it gives them an opportunity to showcase their success and their journey. It gives them an opportunity to dress up and be able to wear clothes they've never been able to wear before," said Dana Bradley, bariatric coordinator.
Perhaps most important, organizers say the patients' dedication to weight loss has made a big impact on their lives. The transformation will help most live longer, healthier lives.
