(WBIR) The Helen Ross McNabb Center on Wednesday announced its merging with the Sexual Assault Center of East Tennessee (SACET) in 2014.
Starting January 1, SACET will be recognized as a service of the Helen Ross McNabb Center. SACET was founded in 1973 and provides 15 East Tennessee counties with services for victims and survivors of sexual assault.
The two organizations said in a statement that the goal of the merger is to increases services for people dealing with crisis situations.
In a press release, Nathan Goodner, Board President for SACET said the merger will provide long-term sustainability for the organization, consolidate costs for the community, and will help streamline services in East Tennessee.
