A judge facing citations for refusing to allow parents to name their baby Messiah will get more time to respond to the charges.
"The word Messiah is a title and it's a title that has only been earned by one person and that one person is Jesus Christ," said Magistrate Lu Ann Ballew during an interview with WBIR Channel 10 back in August.
Judge Ballew ordered the parents of Messiah DeShawn Martin to change their baby's name.
Another judge reversed Ballew's decision, and a state board said Ballew acted illegally and did not uphold the law without bias.
Ballew first learned of the citations in November.
The board extended her deadline to reply until January 6th.
