(WBIR-Knoxville) Shoppers showed up to stores on Thursday to score some after-Christmas sales.

Retailers, like Best Buy, are offering some end-of-year incentives.

"We've seen more sales than returns. We've had very big crowds. Couldn't be better for business so very happy with what we've seen," said Kurt Fernwood, a sales supervisor at the Cedar Bluff Best Buy in West Knoxville.

Best Buy is hosting its annual Yellow Tag Sale Event. It includes a $15 gift card when shoppers spend $100 or more on a single purchase.

"It seems like today is the day where people aren't buying gifts for other people. They're buying things to go with what they have or using their Christmas loot to buy things for themselves," Fernwood said.

Best Buy will continue extended holiday hours through Monday.

West Town Mall also stayed busy.

"Very great sales. Really great clearance items," said Connie Henard of Rogersville.

J.C. Penney is offering coupons for $10 off when shoppers spend $25 or more. That deal is happening in stores through Saturday.

Target's year-end clearance includes half-price toys and up to 60% off on hundreds of items.

"It'll get really busy for a couple of days here and it'll start to die back down. But we anticipate being busy through the new year with exchanges and things of that nature," said Mike Webb, a Target executive team leader at the Turkey Creek Super Target.

The National Retail Federation expects holiday sales for this year to increase by 3.9%.

According to ShopperTrak, weekly in-store retail sales declined from Dec. 16 through Dec. 22.
