It's the busiest time of the year for charities, as tax payers rush to make their donations count in 2013.

At places like Goodwill, many people dropped off items on Monday in exchange for a tax receipt so they could deduct the donations on this year's income taxes.

The proceeds from Goodwill donations provide funding for vocational training for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

Charities around the country say Tuesday, New Year's Eve, is generally the busiest day of the year for donations of items and money, whether it's for the tax credit or end of the year purging.
