East Ridge police say they safely recovered 7-month-old Jeffery Cocke in Dalton, Georgia. Officers took the child's non-custodial father into custody.


Tennessee authorities canceled an endangered child alert for a missing East Ridge baby after the child was found safe.

Officers from the Dalton, Georgia Police Department and the East Ridge Police Department found 7-month-old Jeffery Cocke with his father and recovered the child safely. Officers took his non-custodial father, Joseph Franklin, Jr., into custody.

The East Ridge Police Department issued an Endangered Child Alert for 7-month-old Jeffery Cocke Monday morning. Officers said Franklin took the baby from the child's mother's home in the middle of the night while she was out buying medicine for the child, who is sick.

Franklin has active warrants for custodial interference in Tennessee and several misdemeanor warrants from Georgia.
