The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway will reopen on Monday, January 27th at 10 am.
It closed on January 13 for seasonal repairs to the track.
"The Incline Railway repairs have been completed and we are looking forward to hosting our riders again," said Matthew Higgins, General Manager. "The U. S. Department of Transportation has given us the green light for operation and we are ready to roll," he added. The Incline Railway cars are heated during winter operations and the large windows provide a spectacular view of the Lookout Valley as riders go up to the top of Lookout Mountain on a roundtrip scenic excursion.
Visitors heading to Chattanooga won't be able to ride one of the area's attractions.
The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway will temporarily close on January 13th for seasonal repairs to the track.
"The Incline Railway repairs are our ongoing commitment to safety for all our passengers," said Matthew Higgins, General Manager. "Periodically, we have to close during our slower season to make sure everything is 110% safe for entertaining the over 300,000 annual visitors that ride the Incline Railway," he added.
The Incline Railway will reopen a few weeks later, weather permitting, based on the maintenance schedule currently planned.
The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway is located at the base of Lookout Mountain in St. Elmo.
