(WBIR, Knoxville) - Plumbers around the Knoxville area were extra busy on Tuesday.
HEP managers say as of about 12:00 p.m. they had booked 100 appointments for the day. Those include HVAC and plumbing calls.
Many, like Linda Sandefur, woke up to frozen pipes.
Sandefur says she noticed this morning she only had cold water coming to her kitchen sink, and all the other faucets weren't working.
She called a plumber, and they worked to unfreeze the section of pipe that was frozen.
"I was afraid they would burst, and then I would have a flood under the house and a lot of repairs. So definitely I'm going to get them insulated," said Sandefur.
HEP managers say the best thing you can do for frozen pipes is prevent them by insulating.
