(WBIR - Washington County) Authorities in Washington County have arrested dozens of people in connection with meth distribution.
According to NBC affiliate WCYB in the Tri-Cities, authorities arrested 58 people they say are connected to two separate meth manufacturing conspiracies. Each person faces federal charges, all of which authorities say could potentially combine up to hundreds of years in jail.
1st Judicial District Attorney Tony Clark said these arrests might not have happened at the state level.
"From a state perspective, as a state prosecutor, the number of years that were handed down and the people you see...would be no comparison what we would got on the state level," Clark said.
The trend of meth lab busts in Tennessee has decreased. There were 7% less busts in 2013 as in 2012.
