(WBIR) A Knoxville woman called 911 last night after she said someone broke into her house, assaulted her and then fled.

KPD said they responded to the call in the 2600 block of Edgewood Avenue around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The woman told officers she opened the door to her home and was assaulted by two suspects who forced their way in. They demanded money and pills. She gave it to them, and the suspects fled on foot.

The 39-year-old woman didn't require medical attention.

The suspects were wearing blue bandanas over part of their face, a gray hoodie, and khaki carpenter style pants. One of them was armed with a small pocket knife.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Knoxville Police Department's crime information line at 865-215-7212. Callers can remain anonymous.
