Mobile Meals continued its mission to help home bound seniors on Thursday, thanks to a volunteer effort.

Mobile Meals feeds about eight hundred needy older people in Knox County each day who don't have anyone to help them cook.

On Wednesday, the organization canceled all its deliveries because of road conditions.

Leaders put out a call for volunteers with four-wheel drive vehicles to help Thursday, and the community responded.

"We spent all day yesterday on our phones calling and checking on all the clients to make sure that they were OK and had heat. And then, of course, today as you can see we're busy busy trying to do business as usual. As usual Knox County folks have stepped up and come on out with their four-wheel drive vehicles to help us get this done," said Alison Taylor, CAC's Senior Nutrition Program Manager

If you would like to volunteer to help deliver, you can call Mobile Meals at 524-2786.
