(WBIR) Two people were charged this weekend after authorities said they shot at a group of volunteer fire firefighters who were responding to a vehicle fire, according to the Kentucky State Patrol.

A release from KSP said members of the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department were responding to a vehicle fire around 9:30 p.m. Saturday next to a home in the Arjay community when the incident occurred.

They said an armed man came outside from the residence, cursed at them, and then shot at them before going back inside.

Troopers arrived at the scene and two individuals eventually came out of the home and surrendered.

Vance Miller, 44, and David Lefevers, 27, were both charged with wanton endangerment and taken to the Bell County Detention Center.
