Today is National Wear Red Day. Friday's goal is to raise awareness and urge women to take action to reduce their risk of heart disease, along with raising money for research and education.
Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death for women, killing more than all forms of cancer combined. An estimated 43 million women in America are affected by cardiovascular disease. Ninety percent of women also have one or more risk factors for developing the disease.
