(WBIR) A prosecutor dropped a solicitation of murder charge against a man accused of stabbing his mother in 1986.

Billy Ray Hill Jr. will still stand trial in March for first degree murder. Police announced his arrest last year after Bobby Lou Hill's murder went unsolved for more than 25 years. Prosecutors have accused Hill of stabbing his 45-year-old mother to death in her Knoxville home while looking for drug money. Hill was also charged with solicitation of murder for allegedly trying to have someone killed while he was in custody.
