Two young Tennessee children drowned after the vehicle they were in crashed into a pond.

It happened in Bledsoe County Monday night just before 11. Police say an SUV carrying five people slipped off a pond dam and overturned in the water.

The driver managed to get out of the car and helped a 2-year-old and a 1-year-old escape.

Two other children, a 3-year-old and a 6-week-old, were trapped inside an died. Deputies say the children were underwater for 20 minutes before rescuers pulled them out.

Officials say they are not filing any charges.
