Three people were hospitalized Sunday after a wreck in Jefferson County.

Tennessee Highway Patrol (Fall Branch Division) said a previous accident caused a traffic back-up on Highway 11E Sunday morning, which caught one driver by surprise.

THP said 21 year old Brittany Williams, from Jefferson City, didn't see traffic slowing down around 9:15 am, and struck the vehicle in front of her.

The driver of that second vehicle, 71 year old Buford Warner, and his passenger, 27 year old Ashley Mills, were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Both Warner and Mills are from New Market.

Williams also went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Mills was not wearing a seat belt, which THP said could have prevented at least some of her injuries.

A THP official said the crash was an accident, and does not expect any charges.
