A bicyclist was hospitalized Tuesday after being hit by a truck, according to officials with the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
Connie Tatgenhorst, 60 of Knoxville, was flown by Lifestar to UT Medical Center after the accident around 6 p.m. on Foothills Parkway West.
Officials say she was riding with other cyclists, but was well ahead of the group when she was hit.
Anthony Rust, 60, has been charged with unsafe operation of a motor vehicle in connection with the incident.
Tatgenhorst's condition is unknown at this time.
