(WBIR) A review of the Knox County Trustees Office came back clean Tuesday.

The tax collections office has had an external audit ever since John Duncan III gave unearned bonuses to himself and other employees, prompting a criminal investigation in 2012.

Pugh and Company has conducted regular fraud interviews with office employees, along with checked spending accounts for any unusual activity. So far, everything has come back clean.

Interim Knox County Trustee Craig Leuthold said his office is trying to restore the public's trust everyday. Leuthold wasn't the trustee when the office was accused of wrongdoing.
