The Knox County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a recent phone scam.

Since February 27th, the KCSO has taken 21 reports of a man claiming to be a warrants officer. He says they have failed to report for jury duty and threatens to arrest them unless they pay a fine by purchasing a Green Dot card.

The suspect often identifies himself by using actual names of KCSO officers. He seems to be targeting elderly citizens.

Anyone receiving a similar phone call should not give out any personal information and is asked to contact the KCSO at (865) 215-2243 to file a report.
