A new recycling program is coming to the City of Knoxville's parks and greenways, Mayor Madeline Rogero announced Wednesday.
The city bought 430 new bins for Knoxville's 60 parks. Half of the bins will be used for recycling, and the other half will replace the city's existing trash barrels.
The project cost approximately $27,000.
The city will re-draw trash pick up routes in city parks to make crews more efficient. The city expects to install all the new bins by May.
