A local health department hopes to reopen soon after flooding forced it to close for a month.

A plumbing issue on March 5th caused the Hawkins County Health Department building to flood, damaging several offices on the first floor.

The repairs are covered by insurance, but improvements will cost between $20,000 and $25,000.
