A historic site in Knoxville is getting some much needed renovations.

The Pickle House in the Fort Sanders neighborhood has a history that dates back to 1889. That's when a Confederate veteran built the home, and it has stayed there ever since.

In 2003, a fire badly damaged the building.

Knox Heritage announced Wednesday developers finally began fixing it up.
