Work to complete a second reactor at TVA's Watts Bar nuclear plant is entering a new phase.
TVA says the project is moving from large-scale construction to a focus on finishing and testing individual plant systems.
The agency says the project is still set to be finished in December 2015. TVA originally planned to finish the reactor in December 2012 within a budget of $2.5 billion. The energy company later moved the deadline to 2015 and increased the budget by $2 billion.
The facility is on course to become the nation's first new nuclear generating plant of the 21st century. It will supply enough electricity to power about 650,000 homes.
