A driver is facing charges after a passenger in their car had their arm severed during a crash.

KPD says the incident happened a little after 3:30 Friday afternoon on Parkdale just south of Rifle Range Road. Authorities say the driver lost control on a curve and crashed into a utility pole.

The passenger's arm was hanging out the window at the time of impact. Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered the passenger had her right arm severed as a result of the crash.
