(WBIR, Knoxville) - Goodwill kicked off their 27th annual Straight From the Heart Sack Pack material drive Friday morning.

All this week, students from A.L. Lotts Elementary School have been bringing in clothing, household items, games, and other donations. Members of the fifth grade leadership team packed the donations onto a truck Friday morning so they can be sold at Goodwill Stores.

The rest of Knox County will be collecting donations next week.

"Send in your donations, anything you have around the house. Kids grow at a phenomenal rate, surely. So anything that you have around your house that you're not using, that doesn't fit anymore, that you haven't touched in a while, send it on in," said Erin Rosolina, PR and Marketing Coordinator for Goodwill.

Anderson County and Oak Ridge City Schools also participated this week in the donation drive. Hamblen County and Clinton City Schools will join Knox County next week.
