Congressman Phil Roe is speaking out about the recent controversy surrounding veterans hospitals across the country. He says it's unacceptable that someone may have put veterans' health at stake by manipulating numbers for personal gains.
"If that's been the case, you kept one set of records to show that you met those quality metrics, but in actuality you were not and veterans were out there waiting, heads have gotta roll," he said.
Roe says there are no allegations of falsifying records at any Tennessee facilities but all VA hospitals will be investigated.
The Mountain Home facility in Johnson City, which treats about 55,000 patients a year, has internal audits monthly. The chief business officer said they welcome the investigation.
