(WBIR - East Knoxville) Authorities said Sunday morning they believe the people who shot a 13-year-old boy Saturday got away in a newer white Hyundai Sonata with a rental car decal on the back.
According to KPD, the boy was sitting on a porch on the 2500 block of Parkview Avenue when two young men dressed in black shot him. Police said he tried to run inside the house and got shot in the back.
KPD said it appears the vehicle circled the block while the shooting happened and then picked up the two young men and fled the area.
Authorities said Saturday that the victim's injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
