A college student is finding a unique way around the morning rush hour.

Matt Reap attends Northeast State Community College in Blountville, Tennessee, but he lives about 30 minutes away in Abingdon, Virginia.

While your typical student might drive to school everyday, he has a slightly different commute. Two days a week, Matt flies from Virginia Highlands to the Tri-Cities airport, then it's just a five minute walk to campus.

He says it's a family tradition.

"My dad's a pilot, my uncle was a fighter pilot in the Marines, he flew F-14s and he was also a helicopter pilot, so it kind of runs in the family," explained Reap.

While fuel costs about $6 a gallon, he says the flight practice makes it worth it.He wants to be an airline or corporate pilot one day.
