Tennesseans say they like the promise our schools are showing when it comes to two programs.
A poll of 1,500 people by Vanderbilt University shows an overwhelming number of people, 86 percent, support Governor Bill Haslam's Tennessee Promise plan. The program offers free tuition for students at all of the state's two-year institutions.
And 58 percent of residents say they like the stricter standards for K through 12 brought on by Common Core.
Common Core is meant to develop critical thinking, writing and problem solving skills.
