A Sevierville home improvement store has a special gift for veterans in Sevier County.

A picnic table has been sitting at the Home Depot in Sevierville for about a week. The store has encouraged veterans to stop by and sign it, including their branch and years served.

Hundreds of signatures now cover the table and next week they will donate it to the local American Legion.

The store assistant manager says veterans he's talked to are happy with the table.

"Just about everyone I've talked to has, when they finished come and say 'hey we appreciate you doing this. It's something that's simple but it's something we really appreciate,'" said Michael Hess.

Home Depot has given $80 million to veterans over the past five years.

If you're a veteran and would like to sign the table,Home Depot will have it out through the weekend.
