Random Acts of Flowers celebrated a major milestone Tuesday.

The nonprofit organization made its 40,000th floral delivery to a patient in a healthcare facility.

"We are really proud this is a simple idea that great into an organization that grew into a national phenomenon. We are celebrating the fact that so many people in the community will donate after an event or wedding or memorial service or grocery store and we can reuse and recycle those flowers on behalf of somebody else," said Larsen Jay, founder and CEO of Random Acts of Flowers.

Special guests for the milestone celebration included Phillip Fulmer and Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett.
