(WBIR- Lenoir City) Lenoir City police arrested two men Wednesday in connection with a burglary at Lenoir City Baptist Church.
Arthur Towle and Adam Baker are charged with burglary and theft, according to the arrest report.
Ron Jordan, church executive minister, said an electronic keyboard was stolen from the sanctuary June 21.
"It's sad that people decide they're going to take advantage of churches," Jordan said.
Security cameras throughout the church captured surveillance footage of the suspects, Jordan said.
"A lot of times, they're not aware that churches have taken security measures themselves."
Lenoir City police released the surveillance footage, asking for the public's help identifying the suspects. Chief Don White said the department received tips from the public which led to the suspects' arrests.
The two men are suspects in two other recent church burglaries at Marantha Church of the Harvest and First Baptist Church Concord, White said.
First Baptist Church Concord also caught surveillance footage of a person suspected of stealing a table saw June 11.
"Obviously they were on a crime spree," White said. "And they had targeted churches because I guess they felt like they had easy access."
As of Wednesday afternoon, White said officers were in the process of recovering the stolen keyboard from a pawn shop in Monroe County.
"I feel sorry for them, we pray for them, we forgive them," Jordan said. "But it's certainly nice that we're going to get our equipment back."
