(WBIR) An old ghost town in the Smokies with a turbulent past is back in business.

The Ghost Town in the Sky, an amusement park in Maggie Valley, passed state inspection Thursday leading the way for a July 4th opening.

This year's season had to be pushed back after they ran into construction and weather delays.

The park re-opened last year, but faced several safety, water and vandalism issues. This year, the park's owner says things are looking good.

For $24.95 (kids half price) visitors can ride the chairlift up the mountain to the Old West town.

The Ghost Town is scheduled to open Friday at 10 a.m.
