The Knox County Commission will replace outgoing school board member Indya Kincannon next month.
Commissioners will accept resumes from candidates who want the position until noon on August 8. They'll hold a public hearing to interview top candidates on Monday, August 18th following the commission's monthly work session.

The commission will select Kincannon's replacement during its regular meeting on Monday, August 25th. That person will hold the position until the November election. Whoever wins that contest will fill the rest of Kincannon's term, which ends in 2016.
Kincannon has represented District Two since 2004.
She is moving with her family to Slovenia where her husband recently received a Fulbright scholarship.
