The UT football team worked hard this summer to get ready for the upcoming season, but the weight room isn't the only place the players invested their time.

The team spent the past several weeks helping Habitat for Humanity build a house for a Knoxville family. Wednesday afternoon. that hard work paid off.

Curt Maggitt represented the team and gave Yuvette Ballinger the keys to her new home.

Most of the team worked in groups on the build since it began in early June. They'll be back on the practice field on Friday.

The homeowner says she's enjoyed getting to know the guys.

"I would tell them thank you so much. They're not just my partners in helping me build this home but they're my family now. I've got a lot of kids," said Yuvette Ballinger.

Ballinger hopes to move in with her family next month.
