Election officials say that Chattanooga and Memphis are the latest communities to collect enough signatures to put wine in grocery stores on the November ballot.

That brings the total number of communities holding a vote to 75. If approved, wine could be in grocery stores by 2016.

Several East Tennessee communities have gathered enough signatures, including:

  • Knoxville
  • Knox County
  • Farragut
  • Maryville
  • Alcoa
  • Morristown
  • Greeneville
  • Kingston
  • Harriman
  • Lenoir City
  • Loudon
  • Newport
  • Oak Ridge
  • Clinton
  • Norris
