(WBIR-Rutledge, Tn) The former police officer charged with killing two people inside an East Tennessee pharmacy now faces additional charges.
Investigators say Jason Brian Holt came into the Down Home Pharmacy in Bean Station in May to steal prescription drugs. While there, he shot and killed the pharmacist and owner, Stephen Lovell, and a 72-year-old customer, Richard Sommerville. Pharmacy technician Alexia Gail Wilson and Janet Colleen Clift were also shot but survived.
Holt was charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated robbery after the May 25 shooting, and has been in jail without bond ever since. Prosecutors have said they will seek the death penalty.
Now, a grand jury has indicted Holt on additional charges, including two counts of felony murder, five counts of aggravated assault, eight counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, six counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and one count of especially aggravated robbery.
