(WBIR) People in Claiborne and Union counties mourned the loss of a young man Sunday morning after he died in a motorcycle accident.
Andrew Davidson, 18, was a member of the Union County Sheriff Department's Explorer Program and training to become a reserve deputy.
He was also a volunteer firefighter and the son of Tazewell-New Tazewell Volunteer Fire Department Chief Bill Davidson.
Family and friends celebrated his life at the Claiborne County High School, where he was raised. After the ceremony, he was taken by fire engine and then carried by his fellow firefighters to be laid to rest.
He crashed Wednesday morning when his motorcycle crashed on Route 33. Officers said that Davidson was driving too fast when he crossed over the center lane and ran into a semi-truck.
