(WBIR - Downtown Knoxville) A little bit of competition and a lot of delicious desserts helped raise money on Saturday for local mental health care.
The 2nd annual Cupcakes in the Park event gave kids, adults and professional chefs a chance to show of their baking skills.
A panel of celebrity judges helped pick the winners, but everyone was invited to come try some samples and pick their own favorites.
Festival goers could try 5 cupcakes for $5, with the money going to the Helen Ross McNabb Center.
"Events like this help us serve people who are uninsured or just unable to help themselves so it's very important that people come out and show support for their neighbors as well," Emily Scheunman with the Helen Ross McNabb center said.
Event organizers said thanks to more sponsors and tasters, they were able to double the number of sweets given out.
