(WBIR-Knoxville) The victim of a Friday night hit and run near UT says he wants the driver to turn themselves in.
"I do remember being hit by a car-- I stood up, my adrenaline was pumping so much and I said, 'I just got hit by a car, but I think I'm going to be okay,'" said Kevin Higgins, 19, a student at the University of Tennessee.
He recalled walking at the intersection of 16th Street and Laurel Avenue Friday at 9:00 p.m. when a car came up to him.
"So I started walking across, and about half way, I just heard somebody yell my name from behind me, one of my friends," said Higgins. "I saw the corner of my eye the headlights coming, and the car, kind of, accelerating."
He suffered from gashes, and lacerations to his head, requiring stitches. He was released from UT Medical over the weekend.
