(WBIR-Knoxville) It was Senior Night at Neyland Stadium on Saturday.

The University of Tennessee lost to Vanderbilt, 14-10.

In the past four years, the football players and students have been through some of the program's toughest times. They have experienced Neyland Stadium under the command of three different head coaches.

Four years ago, Lane Kiffin was head coach.

"When we were freshman is when they burned the mattresses at the freshman dorm. I remember that four years ago. That was pretty crazy," said Breanna Carlton, a UT senior.

After Kiffin, came Derek Dooley.

"I saw Butch Jones, obviously Kiffin, and then well let's not speak of the other guy's name," UT Senior Brandon West said.

Mackenzie Hood, who is in her fifth year at UT, added, "Dooley's not our favorite obviously."

Earlier this week, 10News spoke with Defensive Lineman Marlon Walls, a fifth year who was recruited by Phil Fulmer.

"If I had the chance to do it all over again, even with all the ups and downs and change, I wouldn't change it all," he said.

Walls went on to say, "Coach Jones and staff have done a great job of reminding us every day that we're blessed."

Many of the seniors said since coming to UT, Jones is their favorite head coach.

"I feel like they finally have got the right guy. Butch is a good coach and I think he knows what he's doing," West said.

Hood added, "It kind of stinks to go through the motions of rebuilding but Coach Jones is doing a fantastic job."

Carlton and her fiance, UT Alum Robert Weaver, said they will miss $10 student tickets.

"We want to keep watching Butch Jones," Carlton said.

Weaver added, "That's true. We've been through a rough four years but we stuck through it."

28 senior players were honored at Saturday night's game.
